Vital Point…

…but I thought we looked the better side for much of it. Despite all the fear, Garry Monk has this Swansea team playiing quite well, we just need to become a bit more clinical, ruthless and professional. Easier said than done, but I do think we are moving in the right direction.
It was definitely a good idea bringing Neil Taylor back into the starting lineup. The Premiership recently has looked like it had exhausted young Ben Davies, and he will be all the better for the rest once he returns next.
Hopefully we take our next game to the opposition and secure a vital three points – the question is do we play Michu and Bony – personally I think Michu could do with starting this one from the bench, as he isn’t yet 100% and we need to control the game better, something jonjo, DeGuzman, Brits, Canas and even Emnes look better at (at this point). I’d have Michu coming off the bench, and not necessarily for Bony as I think this weakens Michu’s game, at least unitl next week when he will hopefully be closer to full match fitness.

West Brom Crucial

This weekend’s game against West Brom is absolutely crucial. We need three points so bad, particularly after in effect giving three away against Palace last week (minus two from our side and adding one to Palace’s total).

Hopefully the big rest has helped our guys to get fully prepared for this game. Expect two quite cautious teams pressing each other to death, but hopefully our own marginally better ball skills will win out in the end. I’m also happy as every minute their coach keeps his job, as we don’t want to face a team with the traditional new-coach boost behind it.

My ideal team would have to be as follows (let me know your thoughts – comment):-

Vorm
Rangel Ash Amat Davies
Brits De Guzman
Emnes
Hernandez Routledge
Bony

(I klnow Dyer is a great player, but I’d be more excited about bringing his urgeny and pace on from the bench than Routledge)

Players I’d Like to Bring in Next Season (even if its just on loan): Emyr Huws

To start off a fresh series of articles – Players I’d Like to Bring in Next Season (even if it’s just on loan) – I’m focussing on ex-Swansea City wonder kid Emyr Huws.

This kid has developed as expected, being Birmingham’s player of the month for February, an impressive achievement in his first full month at the club. Plus he has won his first full Welsh cap – admittedly not such an honour given the state of our national team (although hopefully this will improve moving forward).

Emyr Huws has a great touch, can ping a lovely pass and has an eye for goal. He is just the sort of player that would thrive in our (and the Welsh) midfield. Unfortunately he plays for Manchester City, so he isn’t going to get the games he needs to develop further. A year with us and he could be the Premiership star Manchester City want – so maybe this should be a loan deal where they pay us!!!

Seeing as he hasn’t got a chance-in-hell’s chance of getting in the Manchester City squad maybe we can sign him permanently – according to http://www.transfermarket.co.uk his contract is up at the end of the season, so maybe my dreams of a potential permanent return to his spiritual home aren’t so far fetched after all.
